#18 - O Chuck Dukowski Sextet

O velho Chuck. Entre as suas principais contribuições: My War, What I See, I've Heard It Before ou Spray Paint.

My War

My war you're one of them
You say that you're my friend
But you're one of them

You don't want to see me live
You don't want me to give
'cause you're one of them

My war you're one of them
You say that you're my friend
But you're one of them

I might not know what a friend is
All I know is what you're not
'cause you're one of them

My war you're one of them
You say that you're my friend
But you're one of them

I have a prediction, it lives in my brain
It's with me every day, it drives me insane
I feel it in my heart, that if I has a gun
I feel it in my heart, I'd wanna kill some
I feel it in my heart, the end will come
Come on!!

My war you're one of them
You say that you're my friend
But you're one of them

Tell me that I'm wrong
Try to sing me your ego song
You're one of them

My war you're one of them
You say that you're my friend
But you're one of them

My war.

#11 - The Watts Prophets - What Is A Man

FREEDOM FLAME

I looked at the moon so full and so bright
and then at the fireplace with its flickering light
and realized why this world will never be right,
then I...
THREW ANOTHER LOG IN THE FIRE

Inside these four walls I am a King.
But beyond that door, it doesn't mean a thing.
I pay all my dues. Still, I have only a partial membership
in world happenings. And my blood runs freely in Viet Nam
So I...
THREW ANOTHER LOG IN THE FIRE

Why do you insist on keeping us caged?
You know all that does is intensify rage.
The word now is «SEIZE THE TIME» and
«ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE»
Then I...
THREW ANOTHER LOG IN THE FIRE

Putting us in a cage was a mistake.
All that did was intensify hate.
And now shackled to our cages you expect us to wait
while you fool around on the Moon?
And from there look for another place to conquer.
While I...
THREW ANOTHER LOG IN THE FIRE

America you argue is just doing fine.
These racial things..however..do take time.
Well I'm tired of waiting and not getting mine,
Except..however..In Viet Nam.
Where every dead black man is a credit to his race.
As long as he remembers his place.
So I...
THREW ANOTHER LOG IN THE FIRE

Quick to put pencil to paper can't wait.
Must write, must explain, before it's too late.
The flames are at their peak can't wait.
Too many broken promises... Too many black babys asking why,
Too many restless armies in the Ghetto.
So I'll just...
THREW ANOTHER LOG IN THE FIRE
